A Letter to Eskom
Imagine if Eskom rewarded the Whistleblowers who exposed State Capture? Imagine if we lived in a place that recognised their efforts?
Presentation made to the SCC: July 2019
I had a brain fart and thought that my work could help the SCC... blissful naivety again :(
International Money Flows: Transnet's 1064
amaBhungane published an article on 1 June 2020 (https://amabhungane.org/stories/how-the-guptas-r9-billion-loco-heist-went-down-01-06/). I pulled the article apart to better understand it. This is my understanding. Well done amaB!
Analysis of the 1064 Memo
I have analyzed the memorandum submitted by Transnet employees to the Board, motivating the increase in cost to R54.4billion
Analysis of the 1064 transaction
I don’t know anyone in South African who has not heard about the controversial “1064” deal. In the event that you Dear Reader, have not, allow me to summarize; in or about 2013 Transnet issued an RFP for the acquisition of 1064 locomotives (par electric and part diesel). At the time of RFP issuance, the entire transaction was estimated to cost R38,6 billion (including contingencies and, escalation). This deal was eventually awarded in 2014 at a
of R54,4 billion.
Management of Transnet motivated this increase through a memorandum. I had a bit of fun pulling the memo apart.

Regiments and Trillian
I did this work more than a year ago ... Paul Holden made it public recently (November 2020ish) at the Zondo commission, although I shared it first (fuck that!) ... My dumbed-down version which all South Africans should know! I know its complex, but that's money laundering for you... reach our if you have questions.
